Credentials
Plain definition. Credentials are signed statements that can be stored on the XRP Ledger and can attest to a user’s identity, legal status or other status, provided by issuers to users who meet their criteria.
Technical definition. Credentials are a set of tools for managing authorization and compliance requirements using the XRP Ledger, and they require the Credentials amendment. Each credential applies to a specific user’s XRP Ledger account and is attested by a specific credential issuer; the user accepts it to make it valid, and authorizers can use it for Deposit Authorization and permissioned domains. The issuer can revoke a credential by deleting it from the ledger, and the user can also delete their own.
