Ripple the Company: What It Does and Owns

Ripple is a private company, and buying XRP buys no part of it. Its president said in January 2026 that Ripple planned to stay private, CoinDesk reported. Ripple runs cross-border payments, custody software, the RLUSD stablecoin, the prime broker Ripple Prime and Ripple Treasury. Ripple said on March 3, 2026 that Ripple Payments is live in more than 60 markets and has processed more than $100 billion, without stating the period.

Acquisitions built much of this. Ripple bought Hidden Road for $1.25 billion and GTreasury for $1 billion. On December 4, 2025 it said it had put nearly $4 billion into deals and investments. Ripple’s Prime page, checked September 29, 2026, claims more than $3 trillion cleared a year across markets. Ripple also said Ripple Treasury facilitated $13 trillion in payments volume in 2025. Neither figure is money invested in XRP. On the banking side, the OCC conditionally approved a national trust bank charter for Ripple on December 12, 2025.

Some questions stay open. As of September 29, 2026, no published figure shows how much XRP passes through these businesses, and no revenue split was found. XRP now competes with stablecoins in Ripple’s products, but no evidence shows Ripple dropping it.
