Deposit Authorization

Plain definition. Deposit Authorization is an optional XRP Ledger account setting that, when turned on, blocks transfers of XRP and tokens from strangers to that account.

Technical definition. Deposit Authorization is an optional account setting enabled by sending an AccountSet transaction with the SetFlag field set to the asfDepositAuth value (9). Once it is on, the account can only receive value from accounts it has preauthorized or by sending a transaction to receive the funds, such as finishing an Escrow. Preauthorization uses a DepositPreauth transaction that names the other account in the Authorize field.
