Loan broker

Plain definition. On the XRP Ledger, a loan broker creates and manages loans, and it also manages the first-loss capital for a connected single asset vault.

Technical definition. A LoanBroker is created on the XRP Ledger with a LoanBrokerSet transaction that can set a management fee rate, measured in 1/10th basis points, so a value of 1000 equals 1%. Creating one requires the LendingProtocol amendment, and the transaction metadata records a new LoanBroker ledger entry. Each loan broker has a pseudo-account, a special account that holds first-loss capital.
