MXNB

Plain definition. MXNB is a stablecoin from Bitso whose value is pegged to the Mexican peso, with each token backed one-to-one by fiat currency reserves.

Technical definition. In Bitso’s announcement, MXNB is a stablecoin pegged to the value of the Mexican peso, fully backed on a one-to-one basis against fiat reserves and regularly audited by independent third parties. Nvio Pagos El Salvador, S.A. de C.V. issues and manages it under a license from El Salvador’s National Commission of Digital Assets (CNAD). That arrangement makes MXNB the first Latin American currency-backed stablecoin to operate under CNAD regulation. Bitso lists its uses as cross-border payments, remittances, digital payments for merchants and fintechs, and stablecoin-to-stablecoin FX conversions.
