Paper wallet
Plain definition. A paper wallet is a piece of paper holding a person’s crypto private keys, a kind of cold wallet that generally isn’t connected to the internet.
Technical definition. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) defines a paper wallet as “merely a piece of paper on which the cold wallet private keys are recorded.” Cold wallets are paper or hardware and generally aren’t connected to the internet. FINRA’s guidance on storing crypto assets warns that a person’s funds could fall into the wrong hands or be vulnerable to destruction or accidental loss.
