Freeze and clawback
Plain definition. Issuers on the XRP Ledger can freeze tokens they issue so holders cannot spend them, and clawback lets them reclaim those tokens; XRP itself can never be frozen.
Technical definition. Trust line tokens support an Individual Freeze, which stops one counterparty from spending the token, and a Deep Freeze, which also stops that counterparty from receiving it. A Global Freeze freezes all counterparties, while the No Freeze setting permanently gives up the power to freeze individual counterparties or end a global freeze. Clawback reclaims issued tokens from a holder only if the issuer enabled it in advance; it cannot be combined with No Freeze, and it works even on frozen funds because it operates directly between issuer and holder.
