Whales
Plain definition. Whales are people or organizations that hold so much of a cryptocurrency that their buying or selling can move its price.
Technical definition. The XRP Ledger Learning Portal glossary defines whales as individuals or entities that hold large amounts of cryptocurrency and can have a significant impact on the market price. The term describes size of holding and the ability to move a market, not a fixed amount: the glossary page gives no cutoff for how much makes a holder a whale.
