Bridge asset
Plain definition. A bridge asset is XRP or another token that a cross-chain bridge moves between the XRP Ledger and a second blockchain, such as its sidechain.
Technical definition. The XRP Ledger’s Bridge ledger entry describes a single cross-chain bridge that connects the XRP Ledger with another blockchain. Its XChainBridge field records the bridge’s door accounts and assets. The LockingChainIssue is the asset locked and unlocked on the locking chain, and the IssuingChainIssue is the asset minted and burned on the issuing chain. On an IOU-IOU bridge, the issuing chain’s door account must be the asset’s issuer, to avoid supply issues.
