What could XRPL stablecoin supply be by the end of 2026?
Confirmed Published 3 min read
Short answer
If fourth-quarter growth were 20%, 30% or 47%, stablecoin supply on the XRP Ledger would end 2026 at about $1.46 billion, $1.58 billion or $1.78 billion, starting from DefiLlama’s $1.213 billion at 19:29 UTC on September 29, 2026 (our calculation). These are arithmetic, not forecasts. With no growth, supply stays about 4.3 times Blockworks’ end-of-March figure.
The full answer
We found no published forecast for stablecoin supply on the XRP Ledger that we could check as of September 29, 2026. This page does something narrower. It takes the latest figure and shows what different growth rates for the last quarter of 2026 would produce. Each row is a sum. None is a prediction, and the page does not say which is likely.
What base do the calculations start from?
DefiLlama’s XRP Ledger page, as captured at 19:29 UTC on September 29, 2026, showed $1.213 billion of stablecoins, with RLUSD at 92.46%.[2] It also showed a 1.83% change over one day, so the figure moves over time. We use the 19:29 UTC reading as the starting point for the fourth quarter. For comparison, Blockworks Advisory, in a report commissioned by Ripple, counted $279.5 million at the end of March 2026 and $825.5 million at the end of June.[1] From June 30 to September 29 supply grew about 47% (our calculation, from two providers that may count differently). How that growth was reached is covered in how much stablecoin value is on the XRP Ledger.
What would different fourth-quarter growth rates produce?
| Q4 2026 growth | Year-end supply | Multiple of March 31 ($279.5 million) |
|---|---|---|
| +47% (repeats Q3 so far) | about $1.78 billion | about 6.4 times |
| +30% | about $1.58 billion | about 5.6 times |
| +20% | about $1.46 billion | about 5.2 times |
| 0% | about $1.21 billion | about 4.3 times |
| -20% | about $0.97 billion | about 3.5 times |
All figures are our calculation from the $1.213 billion base.[2][1] The +47% row assumes the third quarter’s rate simply repeats. The table ignores how growth is spread within a quarter, and it treats RLUSD, which is over 90% of the total, as if its path were independent of the one company that issues it.
What happens to the base if Q4 growth is zero or supply shrinks?
With no growth, year-end supply would be about $1.21 billion, still about 4.3 times the end-of-March figure. A 20% fall would leave about $0.97 billion, close to the $921.9 million DefiLlama’s series showed on August 12, 2026.[3] That would undo the growth since mid-August, not the year’s.
Falls have happened. CoinDesk reported that RLUSD’s market cap slipped almost 5% in the 30 days to July 24, 2026.[5] Supply on the XRP Ledger can also drop without any holder leaving: Coinpaper reported that on September 6, 2026 about 1,363,615 RLUSD was removed from the XRP Ledger and the same amount minted on Ethereum, and read the mirrored amounts as a supply rebalance.[6] If the issuer moved more supply toward Ethereum in this way, the XRP Ledger figure would fall (our reasoning). On the other side, Evernorth says RLUSD balances on the XRP Ledger had no down quarter in the year to June 2026, averaging $539 million in the second quarter against $73 million a year earlier.[4]
What could move supply up or down in the fourth quarter?
The passages of the Blockworks and Evernorth reports cited here, read on September 29, 2026, give no RLUSD issuance schedule and no stated plan for splitting supply between chains. Scheduled events that could add or remove supply are tracked in the XRP and Ripple pipeline for the next quarter. For how supply behaved on other chains after surges like this, see XRP Ledger activity against other chains.
Why not simply project the recent rate forward?
The rate so far was measured from a small base: Blockworks put supply at $66.1 million a year before June 2026.[1] A rate that held from $280 million to $1.2 billion says little about the step from $1.2 billion onward. On activity quality, Analytics Insight reported that a September 8 analysis from Bitquery attributed 93.2% of August transaction traffic to 793 accounts and described substantial automated order activity. The case against extending 2026’s growth rates is made in will XRP ecosystem growth rates continue. And a larger stablecoin base does not by itself mean more demand for XRP; that link is examined in whether more stablecoins mean more XRP liquidity.
What we know
- March 31, 2026: $279.5 million of stablecoins on the XRP Ledger; June 30, 2026: $825.5 million (Blockworks Advisory report commissioned by Ripple, August 2026).
- August 12, 2026: $921.9 million on DefiLlama’s XRP Ledger series (CryptoSlate, September 12, 2026).
- September 29, 2026, 19:29 UTC: $1.213 billion on the XRP Ledger, RLUSD 92.46% (DefiLlama, which showed a 1.83% change over one day).
- 30 days to July 24, 2026: RLUSD’s market cap slipped almost 5% (CoinDesk).
- September 6, 2026: about 1,363,615 RLUSD removed from the XRP Ledger and issued on Ethereum (Coinpaper, September 7, 2026).
What we reason Analysis
- Supply grew about 47% from June 30 to September 29, 2026 (our calculation from Blockworks and DefiLlama figures).
- Year-end supply at -20%, 0%, +20%, +30% and +47% fourth-quarter growth would be about $0.97 billion, $1.21 billion, $1.46 billion, $1.58 billion and $1.78 billion, or 3.5 to 6.4 times the March 31 level (our calculation from DefiLlama’s 19:29 UTC reading of September 29 and Blockworks’ March 31 figure).
- A 20% fall would take supply back to about where DefiLlama’s series stood in mid-August 2026 (our comparison of the scenario table with the August 12 figure).
What's still open
- As of September 29, 2026, no public issuance schedule for RLUSD on the XRP Ledger, and no stated plan to move RLUSD between chains, was found in the passages of Blockworks’ and Evernorth’s reports cited here.
In plain English
This page does simple sums, not predictions. It takes the roughly $1.2 billion of stablecoins on the XRP Ledger in late September 2026 and asks where that would be at the end of the year if it grew by 20%, 30% or 47%, or did not grow, or shrank. The answers run from about $0.97 billion to about $1.78 billion. All of them are well above the roughly $280 million at the end of March 2026.
