Short answer
No source in this project shows exponential growth across the XRP ecosystem. XRPL-native stablecoin supply rose 195% in Q2 2026 (Blockworks, reported by CCN), but Flare reports FXRP in DeFi fell from 144 million in July to 130 million on September 24, 2026. Triple-digit quarterly rates like that usually fade as the base grows.
The full answer
What grew fast in 2026, and what did not?
The fastest growth in the project’s sources is in stablecoins on the XRP Ledger. Blockworks’ State of XRP report, as reported by CCN on August 20, 2026, found XRPL-native stablecoin supply rose 195% quarter over quarter in Q2 2026 to $825.5 million [1]. RLUSD supply on XRPL rose 257% to $676.9 million, 82% of the ledger’s stablecoin market at quarter-end [1]. Stablecoin transfer volume rose 208% to about $10 billion, with RLUSD generating about $9 billion of it, up from $2.6 billion in Q1 [1]. Tokenized real-world asset value reached $4.46 billion, up 103% from Q1, while freely transferable RWAs fell 5% to $386.1 million [1].
Other measures fell in the same quarter. Blockworks reported that average daily active addresses declined 11%, payment volume fell 27% and DEX volume dropped 36% in Q2 2026, even as the ledger processed 222.4 million transactions, its second-highest quarterly total [1]. XRP closed Q2 at $1.04, down 20% from the end of Q1 [1].
FXRP, the wrapped form of XRP used on Flare, shows a rise and then a fall. Flare reported on September 24, 2026 that FXRP in DeFi grew from 82 million to 144 million between February and July, and that about 145.2 million FXRP were minted with 130 million in DeFi on 24 September [2]. Flare also reported more than 155 million minted by late April [2]. The reasons for the fall from the July peak are covered on the page What is FXRP, and how much of it is actually being used?.
What were the growth rates by quarter and over the last 30, 60 and 90 days?
Blockworks’ Q2 2026 XRP Tokenholder Report, prepared by Blockworks Advisory, states that the average transaction cost declined from $0.00034 in Q1 to $0.00024 in Q2 2026, marking the fifth consecutive quarterly decline. The growth rates for those earlier quarters were not public as of October 2, 2026. The stablecoin figures here cover Q2 2026 (XRPL stablecoin supply of $825.5M, per CCN citing Blockworks) and early July 2026 ($889.58M, per CryptoSlate on July 6, 2026). No Q3 2026 or trailing-rate figures are cited (see the open list).
One later stablecoin point exists from a different tracker. CryptoSlate reported on July 6, 2026 that XRPL stablecoin supply stood at $889.58 million, with RLUSD at 94.9% [4]. Blockworks (via CCN) put RLUSD on XRPL at $676.9 million at the end of Q2 2026, while CryptoSlate reported $844.58 million on July 6, 2026, a gap of about $168 million six days apart. The sources do not explain the difference, so the two series should not be joined into one growth rate.
For FXRP, Flare’s own figures give dated points rather than rates [2]. This follows from those figures: FXRP in DeFi rose about 76% from February to July 2026, then fell about 9.7% from July to 24 September. Minted FXRP was about 10 million lower on 24 September than in late April.
Should Q2’s 195% be projected forward?
No. Compounding 195% a quarter for four more quarters would take XRPL-native stablecoin supply from $825.5 million [1] to about $62.5 billion. That is roughly a fifth of the $311.39 billion global stablecoin market CryptoSlate reported on July 6, 2026, when XRPL held about 0.29% of it [4]. A move of that size within a year has no support in any source the project holds.
The same arithmetic applies to FXRP. The 76% rise from February to July was followed by a decline, not another 76% [2]. BigGo Finance reported on September 25, 2026, citing Flare Metrics, that about 85% of current FXRP minting capacity was used [3]. Minted FXRP cannot rise far without new capacity, whatever the demand.
Why can early liquidity growth look nonlinear?
In a young network, several things can rise in the same quarter. More stablecoins, more tokenized assets and more venues for wrapped XRP can each make the others more useful, so the combined curve looks steeper than any one of them. Q2 2026 shows only part of that pattern. Stablecoins and RWAs rose sharply while payments, DEX volume and active addresses fell [1]. The reinforcing effect was not network-wide in that quarter.
How did comparable networks’ growth normalize after their early bursts?
No dated data on how other networks’ growth rates settled after early bursts had been published as of September 30, 2026, so I leave that comparison out. The only normalization pattern in the project’s data is XRP-specific: FXRP deployment rose quickly, peaked in July and eased by September [2]. Flare itself wrote on September 24, 2026 that “No layer here is finished” [2].
Which parts of the stack are not yet ready?
XRPL amendments generally need more than 80% validator support for two continuous weeks [5]. A lending and borrowing track focused on tools for the planned features is scheduled for 24 to 25 October [5]. Activation would add a new source of demand that is absent from the 2026 figures, so it is one of the things that could change the rate into 2027. The page on which parts of the XRP institutional stack are live and which are still waiting tracks this in detail.
For how long thresholds such as $5 billion to $250 billion of liquidity would take at slower rates, see how long XRPL liquidity would take to reach $5B to $250B at 2026 growth rates.
What is the strongest case that growth continues, and the strongest critique?
The case for continued growth rests on capital still arriving. Blockworks reported that global XRP exchange-traded products took $253.6 million in net inflows in Q2 2026, up 45% from Q1, even as assets under management fell 17% to $1.99 billion with the price [1]. The evidence for and against that flow is set out in whether institutional capital is actually flowing into XRP.
The strongest critique is that ledger growth is not XRP growth. CoinDesk reported on March 13, 2026 that XRPL activity is increasingly driven by RLUSD and tokenized assets that flow through XRP as a bridge but do not create sustained demand for the token, and that “every metric that should matter for a utility token is up, but the price is down” [6]. CCN’s report on the Q2 data concluded that growth in stablecoins and tokenization strengthens the case for XRPL as institutional infrastructure, but not necessarily for XRP as an investment, and that ledger adoption and token appreciation “remain two separate stories” [1]. The page why XRP’s price isn’t going up, even with more adoption examines that gap.

- Q2 2026: XRPL stablecoin transfer volume rose 208% to about $10 billion; tokenized real-world asset value rose 103% to $4.46 billion, while freely transferable RWAs fell 5% to $386.1 million (Blockworks, via CCN).
- Q2 2026: average daily active addresses fell 11%, payment volume fell 27% and DEX volume fell 36% (Blockworks, via CCN).
- Flare reported on September 24, 2026 that FXRP in DeFi grew from 82 million to 144 million between February and July 2026, and stood at 130 million on 24 September, with about 145.2 million minted.
- Flare reported more than 155 million FXRP minted by late April 2026, against about 145.2 million on September 24, 2026.
- BigGo Finance reported on September 25, 2026, citing Flare Metrics, that about 85% of current FXRP minting capacity was used.
- The Crypto Times reported on September 24, 2026 that the XLS-65 and XLS-66 lending amendments were still in validator voting, not active on mainnet, and had no confirmed activation dates.
- RWA.xyz’s XRP Ledger page, as of October 3, 2026, showed 30-day changes: stablecoin market cap was $1.25 billion, up 14.02 percent, while stablecoin holders were 81.05 thousand, down 0.50 percent, and stablecoin transfer volume was $4.87 billion, down 14.93 percent. For real-world assets, distributed asset value was $498.80 million, up 8.84 percent, and RWA holders were 283, up 14.11 percent. Represented asset value was $4.10 billion, down 0.12 percent. As of October 3, 2026, no public source I found gives 60 or 90 day growth rates for these categories, or any growth rate for FXRP.
What we reason Analysis
- Compounding Q2’s 195% stablecoin rate for four more quarters would take XRPL-native supply from $825.5 million to about $62.5 billion, roughly a fifth of the $311.39 billion global stablecoin market CryptoSlate reported on July 6, 2026. That arithmetic, built on the Blockworks/CCN and CryptoSlate figures, shows why the Q2 rate should not be projected forward.
- FXRP in DeFi rose about 76% from February to July 2026, then fell about 9.7% from July to September 24, 2026. This follows from Flare’s 82 million, 144 million and 130 million figures.
- With about 85% of FXRP minting capacity used (BigGo, citing Flare Metrics), minted FXRP cannot rise far without new capacity. The capacity figure comes from the BigGo report.
- Early-network growth can look nonlinear when stablecoin supply, tokenized assets and DeFi uptake rise in the same quarter. The Q2 2026 data show those curves did not all move together: stablecoins and RWAs rose while payments, DEX volume and active addresses fell. These points rest on the Blockworks/CCN Q2 figures.
What's still open
- As of September 30, 2026, the project holds no Q3 2026 quarterly report for XRPL; searched the evidence pack and held facts for Q3 stablecoin, RWA and DEX figures.
- As of September 30, 2026, no dated data was available on how other networks’ growth rates normalized after early bursts.
- As of September 24, 2026, the native lending amendments had no confirmed activation date (The Crypto Times).
In plain English
Some parts of the XRP ecosystem grew very fast in the second quarter of 2026, especially dollar stablecoins on the XRP Ledger, which nearly tripled. Other parts shrank in the same quarter, and the amount of wrapped XRP put to work on Flare has fallen since July. Very fast growth from a small starting point usually slows as things get bigger. The real question is how fast growth settles into 2027, and no third-quarter data had been published as of October 2, 2026.
