What digital-asset features does Ripple Treasury have?
Company-reported Published 5 min read
Short answer
Ripple Treasury’s live digital-asset features are Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury, which Ripple launched globally on April 1, 2026. Ripple says they show XRP and RLUSD balances in the same account structure as cash. Repo yield and settlement links were announced that day as coming soon.

What did Ripple add to its treasury platform?
On April 1, 2026, Ripple announced the global launch of two features in Ripple Treasury: Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury [1]. Ripple described them as the first two capabilities in the product’s digital asset framework, and said multiple customers were already in beta before that launch [1]. Ripple Treasury is the treasury software business Ripple built on GTreasury after acquiring it in 2025 [1]. For the product itself and its size, see What is Ripple Treasury, and how big is it?.
No customer uptake figure appears in this site’s sources.
Ripple’s April 1 release says finance teams can now view, hold, receive and manage fiat and digital liquidity held with their bank and custody providers in a single system [1]. The same release quotes Ripple saying the product needs no separate interface, no new workflows, and no need for the finance team to deal with custody, wallets or exchanges on its own [1].
Ripple Treasury’s website describes its digital-asset module as “native stablecoin and blockchain treasury infrastructure” in its product menu (as viewed in September 2026) [3].
Which stablecoins and tokenized assets are supported, and is XRP among them?
Ripple’s April 1, 2026 release says digital asset balances “including XRP and Ripple USD (RLUSD)” appear within the same account structure as cash and are valued in real time [1]. XRP is named. So is RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar stablecoin.
Ripple’s digital asset account product card states that teams wanting to hold XRP, RLUSD or other digital assets as part of their treasury position no longer need a separate system to do it, and Ripple announced on April 1, 2026 that Ripple Treasury, the product built on GTreasury after its 2025 acquisition, launched that day with XRP and RLUSD balances inside the same account structure as cash. Ripple’s materials give no list of tokenized assets, such as tokenized funds or bonds, that the product can show. The word “including” means the list may be longer, but this site found no fuller list as of September 30, 2026.
Ripple’s separate payments business is a different product. Ripple said on April 24, 2026 that its payments platform supports stablecoins including USDC, USDT and RLUSD [4]. That statement is about Ripple Payments, not Ripple Treasury.
In the live features, XRP is something the software can display and value. None of the cited sources shows any company holding XRP through Ripple Treasury or paying with it.
What else does the platform do around these features?
Ripple Treasury’s product menu, as viewed in September 2026, lists liquidity management (“real-time visibility across your global accounts”), risk management (“identify, measure and hedge financial risk”), netting (“reduce transaction volume and FX exposure”) and GSmart, described as “AI-powered insights built on your treasury data” [3]. Netting has its own page: What is Ripple Treasury’s embedded netting?
Ripple Treasury’s news page dates the automation pieces. It lists the GSmart launch on June 18, 2025, GSmart Risk Insights on December 9, 2025, the acquisition of Solvexia for reconciliation and regulatory reporting on January 6, 2026, and a release on September 10, 2026 that Ripple titled “Industry’s First Governed AI for Enterprise Treasury” [3]. These tools predate or sit beside the digital-asset features. They are not themselves digital-asset functions.
The homepage shows “$12.5T Payments Volume” and “13,000 Connected Banks” as of September 29, 2026 [2]. Ripple’s April 1, 2026 release announced Ripple Treasury’s global general availability, with multiple customers already in beta [1]. The $12.5T payments-volume figure and the 13,000 connected-banks count describe conventional activity on the platform, so they say nothing about how much digital-asset activity runs through it.
What was announced but not yet shown to be live?
Ripple’s April 1, 2026 release says the digital asset framework “will soon expand” to connect with Ripple products for cross-border and intercompany settlement, and for 24/7 yield on idle cash through overnight repo, “powered by stablecoins and digital assets” [1]. These were announced as future steps. As of September 30, 2026, this site’s sources hold no statement that either connection is live. The repo question has its own page: Can companies get repo financing through Ripple Treasury?
How many customers have switched on the digital-asset features?
No figure is available in this site’s sources as of September 30, 2026. Ripple’s April 1 release says only that “multiple customers” were in beta before general availability [1]. It gives no number, no names and no later update. The Ripple Treasury news page lists no later item reporting uptake of the digital-asset features [3]. The rate of adoption since April 1, 2026 is therefore unknown.
What must a company have in place before using them?
Ripple’s release describes the features as managing liquidity “held within their bank and custody providers” [1]. A company would first need its digital assets held with a bank or custody provider that connects to Ripple Treasury; the software shows and manages those holdings rather than replacing the custodian.
Ripple’s April 1, 2026 release describes the platform’s native digital asset capabilities, and Ripple Treasury’s site shows company-reported figures such as 13,000 connected banks [1]. Neither is guidance on a company’s own accounting policy. Ripple’s release says digital balances are “recorded with the same discipline as every other transaction”, which is a statement about the software’s records, not about a company’s accounting policy [1]. Ripple’s release says digital asset balances, including XRP and RLUSD, appear within the same account structure as cash, valued in real time and “recorded with the same discipline as every other transaction” [1]. Guidance on board approvals, accounting treatment and audit steps is covered in the open questions below.
What is the case that this does little for XRP?
The strongest critique comes from crypto.news. In an audit of Ripple’s acquisitions published July 25, 2026, it wrote that the acquired businesses “run primarily on fiat, traditional assets, and RLUSD”, that “treasury is fiat”, and that Ripple “has built a path to institutional success that does not require XRP demand” [5]. The same piece set a “generous reading” of optionality against an “ungenerous reading” that Ripple has been reducing its dependence on XRP, and said the audit cannot settle which one wins [5].
The April 1 release does name XRP among balances Ripple Treasury can show [1], so XRP is not excluded from the product. Showing a balance is not the same as creating demand for the asset. The wider question of whether spending on this kind of infrastructure is running ahead of use is covered in Is money going into XRP infrastructure ahead of real demand?, and the link to token demand in Does tokenization on the XRP Ledger create any demand for XRP?

What we reason Analysis
- The live digital-asset features are about seeing and managing balances, not about moving value. This follows from Ripple’s April 1, 2026 description of Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury and from the same release placing settlement and repo yield in a later expansion.
- A company would need a bank or custody provider already holding its digital assets before these features show anything. This follows from Ripple’s April 1, 2026 wording that the system manages liquidity ‘held within their bank and custody providers’.
- XRP appearing as a displayed balance does not show that any company holds XRP or uses it for payments through Ripple Treasury. This follows from the April 1, 2026 release naming XRP among balances that can be shown, and from the absence of any usage figure in this site’s sources.
- The $13 trillion (2025, Ripple release) and $12.5 trillion (homepage, viewed September 29, 2026) volume figures describe the treasury platform’s conventional payments, so they do not measure digital-asset use. This follows from both figures being labelled payments volume and from the digital-asset features being launched only on April 1, 2026.
What's still open
- As of September 30, 2026, Ripple has not said how many Ripple Treasury customers have switched on Digital Asset Accounts or Unified Treasury.
- As of September 30, 2026, Ripple has not published a list of tokenized assets supported in Ripple Treasury, or a full list of supported stablecoins beyond RLUSD.
- As of September 30, 2026, this site’s sources hold no statement that the announced repo-yield or cross-border settlement connections have gone live.
- As of September 30, 2026, this site’s sources hold no guidance from Ripple or any auditor on the board policy, accounting treatment or audit steps a company needs before using these features.
In plain English
Ripple Treasury is software that big companies use to track and move their cash. In April 2026 Ripple added a way for that software to also show crypto balances, such as XRP and Ripple’s own dollar token RLUSD, next to ordinary bank balances. Ripple said multiple customers tested it first. Ripple also said features for earning interest on spare cash and for sending money abroad through this setup would come later. No public figure shows how many companies actually use the crypto part.
