Short answer
This site gives no buy, sell or hold advice and sets no XRP price target. The forecasts reviewed are conditional on events that had not happened when published. CoinDesk reported on March 13, 2026 that XRP Ledger usage metrics were up while XRP’s price was down, and the reviewed analyses differ on whether that usage becomes demand for XRP.
The full answer
This page describes what published forecasts assume. It does not give a price target, and it gives no buy, sell or hold advice.
Where do published XRP forecasts come from?
The forecasts reviewed here take two forms: dated calls in news analysis and headline targets on crypto sites. CoinDesk, writing on 13 March 2026 with XRP at $1.37 and down 26% for the year, said a relief bounce to $1.60 or higher was plausible if macro conditions stabilized and the Iran conflict moved toward resolution [1]. Coinpaper’s site, in a list of items dated 29 September 2026, carried a top-read headline reading “XRP Price Prediction: Ali Martinez Targets $60 if XRP Clears $3.66” [8]. Each figure is tied to an “if”.
Bank research follows the same pattern. Standard Chartered analysts estimate that stablecoin issuers could generate $800 billion to $1 trillion in additional demand for Treasury bills, a projection that assumes the stablecoin market reaches about $2 trillion by the end of 2028, Coinpaprika reported on 6 September 2026 [4]. That is a stablecoin scenario, not an XRP forecast. Coinpaprika describes it as a forward-looking scenario, not a current figure, that depends on rapid growth [4].
Which assumptions in each forecast are observed and which are assumed?
Some inputs can be measured today. CoinDesk put XRP’s market cap at $84 billion on 13 March 2026 [1]. On 12 May 2026 CoinDesk reported cumulative net inflows across all XRP spot ETFs of $1.35 billion and total net assets of $1.18 billion, about 1.3% of XRP’s market cap [2]. Evernorth’s Q2 2026 report, citing SoSoValue, counts $273.00 million of net ETF inflows for the quarter with no month in net outflow [3]. Evernorth also reports that accounts transacting on XRPL fell from 33,145 to 16,587 a day over the six quarters to Q2 2026, while RLUSD balances on XRPL averaged $539 million in Q2 2026, up from $73 million a year earlier [3]. These are Evernorth’s own figures.
Other inputs are still pending. TechTimes reported on 16 July 2026 that Japan Exchange Group has confirmed it is targeting spot crypto ETF listings for around 2027, and that Japan’s FIEA reclassification does not by itself authorize ETF products [6]. SBI Holdings filed in August 2025 for an ETF tracking Bitcoin and XRP and a second blending gold and crypto, with its own stated three-year asset target of about $32 billion [6]. CaptainAltcoin reported on 10 September 2026 that the CLARITY Act was approaching a major Senate vote, and that a procedural Senate vote does not mean XRP receives instant regulatory clarity [7]. CoinDesk reported on 15 September 2026 that the 49-50 Senate vote meant to start the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act toward passage fell far short. A filing reported by Coinpaper identifies XRP among assets that currently qualify under generic listing standards for commodity-based trust shares [8].
Evernorth’s Q2 2026 report, published 2 September 2026, says XRP-paired pools grew 26% while trading through them fell 74% over six measured quarters. Bloomberg put the stablecoin market at roughly $300 billion to $310 billion as of September 2026, and Coinpaprika called the stalled growth the first real test of that scenario [4]. What a given XRP price would mean as a market cap is worked through on what a given XRP price would require.
Current fund holdings are tracked on how much XRP the US spot ETFs hold. Regulation: coinpaper.com reported that a document identifies Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and XRP as assets that currently qualify under generic listing standards for commodity-based trust shares [8].
Ledger use: Evernorth reported on 2 September 2026 that RLUSD balances on XRPL averaged $539 million in Q2 2026, up from $73 million a year earlier, lifting XRPL’s share of RLUSD from 20% to 34% [3].
Why do forecasters disagree?
CoinDesk set out the standard crypto thesis on 13 March 2026: network activity drives token value, and more usage means more demand for the native asset [1]. It then reported that every metric that should matter for a utility token was up while the price was down [1]. Its explanation was that XRPL activity is increasingly driven by RLUSD and tokenized assets that flow through XRP as a bridge currency but do not create sustained demand for the token [1]. It added that a payment using XRP for three seconds does not generate the same buy pressure as staking ETH for months or locking SOL in a DeFi protocol [1]. CoinDesk also put XRPL’s total value locked at $47.54 million, citing DeFiLlama. It called XRP’s DeFi layer a rounding error relative to its valuation, with the market cap driven by speculative positioning and ETF expectations [1].
Evernorth’s company report adds a capacity view: over six quarters, XRP-paired pools grew 26% while trading through those pools fell 74%, which Evernorth reads as the pool count being capacity [3].
The reviewed sources agree the ledger is being used. They split on how fast that use turns into lasting demand for XRP, which is the variable that moves a long-range forecast most. A way to model this without picking a price is set out on building an XRP capacity model that is not a price target, and the gap between activity and price is covered on why XRP’s price is not rising with adoption.
What track record do these forecasters have on past XRP calls?
No public scorecard of these forecasters’ earlier XRP calls is known as of October 1, 2026. The price record shows how wide a range any forecast had to cover. CoinDesk reported on 12 May 2026 that XRP was well off its July 2025 all-time high near $3.65 and down 39% over six months [2], with the token at $1.47 after a 1.2% daily rise [2]. Canary’s Form 10-Q states that XRP fell 43.27% from $1.84 at 31 December 2025 to $1.04 at 30 June 2026 [5].
A conditional call can’t be scored on price alone. Whether the CoinDesk bounce call or the $60 headline was right depends first on whether its stated condition was met.
Who pays for published forecasts, and do the publishers hold or sell XRP?
The publishers cited here state their own limits. Coinpaprika says its information is for informational purposes only and is not financial or investment advice [4]. Evernorth’s report says it is not an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security and is not investment advice [3]. CaptainAltcoin’s head of content describes a strong belief in the potential of the web3 market since 2017 [7]. Canary’s 10-Q cautions investors against relying on forward-looking statements [5]. As of October 1, 2026, the forecast pages cited here do not state whether their authors or publishers hold XRP.
What is the strongest evidence against reading forecasts this way?
The bull case has measured support. CoinDesk wrote on 13 March 2026 that the real-world asset picture is the one area where the data supports the bull case, with $461 million in distributed asset value and $1.5 billion in represented asset value putting XRPL ahead of several larger chains in specific tokenization categories [1]. It added that if the tokenization thesis plays out over the next few years, XRPL has a foothold most competitors lack [1]. Evernorth’s own figures show RLUSD balances on XRPL rising from $73 million to $539 million in a year [3]. The case that some of this is already in the price is on whether future adoption is priced into XRP. Measures to track in place of forecasts are on what to watch instead of the XRP price.
What does the author hold?
I hold XRP, and donations to this site arrive in XRP. That is why this page sets no target and reports only what published forecasts assume.

What we reason Analysis
- Drawing on CoinDesk’s 13 March 2026 analysis and Evernorth’s Q2 2026 report, the main split between forecasts is not whether the XRP Ledger works but how quickly ledger activity turns into lasting demand for XRP itself.
- Standard Chartered’s stablecoin scenario, as reported by Coinpaprika in September 2026, shows the common structure of a long-range forecast: an assumed end state set against an observed level far below it, so the result depends mostly on the assumed growth.
- Because the CoinDesk relief-bounce call and the Coinpaper-listed $60 headline each depend on a stated condition, neither can be judged right or wrong on price alone; the condition has to be checked first.
- The ETF channel most bull cases lean on was, by CoinDesk’s May 2026 count, about 1.3% of XRP’s market cap, so forecasts that assume large ETF demand are projecting well beyond the observed level.
What's still open
- As of 1 October 2026, no published scorecard comparing these forecasters’ earlier XRP calls with actual outcomes has been identified.
- The forecast pages cited here do not say whether their authors or publishers hold XRP, as of 1 October 2026.
- As of 1 October 2026, whether Japan’s spot crypto ETF listings arrive around 2027 is not known.
- As of 1 October 2026, whether the stablecoin market grows from about $300 billion toward the $2 trillion in Standard Chartered’s scenario is not known.
In plain English
A price forecast is a guess about the future that depends on certain things happening first, such as new laws or big funds buying in. The forecasts on this page all say what has to happen before their number could be reached. Use of the XRP Ledger went up in early 2026 while XRP’s price went down. Forecasters disagree mainly about whether more use of the network will lead to more people needing to buy and hold XRP.
