What does the August 2026 report say?
An RLUSD attestation report dated August 31, 2026 lists outstanding stablecoin units of 1,763,215,434 and 2,325,969,308 [1]. The first figure is for August 17, 2026 and the second for August 31, 2026. The report is the issuer’s own monthly document, and Ripple hosts it on its transparency page [3].
The same table gives the market value of the reserve. It was $1,877,691,559 on August 17 and $2,446,312,864 on August 31 [1]. Management asserts that the reserve was equal to or greater than the outstanding units [1]. Standard Custody & Trust Company’s chief executive signed the report on September 29, 2026 [1].
How does that compare with earlier months?
The June 2026 report showed 1,682,288,477 RLUSD outstanding on June 8 and 1,411,034,124 on June 30 [2]. Outstanding units therefore rose from 1,411,034,124 to 2,325,969,308 between June 30 and August 31, about 65%. Within August alone, the rise from 1,763,215,434 to 2,325,969,308 is about 32% [1].
Supply fell between the two June dates, so the series is not a straight climb. The reports give two snapshots a month, so the days between them are not shown. For a wider view of growth, see how much RLUSD exists.
How large was the reserve cushion?
Subtracting outstanding units from the reserve’s market value gives $114,476,125 (6.5% of outstanding units) on August 17 and $120,343,556 (5.2%) on August 31. These figures are arithmetic on the numbers in the report. The cushion grew in dollars and shrank as a share. What the reserve holds is covered in what backs RLUSD.
What are the limits of this figure?
The figure comes from the issuer’s own reporting process. Ripple’s transparency page says an independent U.S.-licensed CPA performs the attestations and that reports arrive no more than 30 days after month end [3]. The report counts total units. It does not split them by chain, so it cannot show how much sits on the XRP Ledger; that question is taken up in stablecoin supply on the XRP Ledger.
A larger RLUSD supply also says little about XRP by itself. XRP’s own supply is a separate matter, set out in how many XRP exist. For what RLUSD is, see what RLUSD is.
What is not known yet?
As of October 7, 2026, no September 2026 figure has been published. Ripple’s transparency page says reports arrive within 30 days of month end, so the September report is due by the end of October [3].

What we reason Analysis
- Between the August 17 and August 31 report dates, outstanding units rose by about 32%. Between June 30 and August 31 they rose by about 65%. Both rates are worked out from the figures in the report.
- The reserve exceeded outstanding units by $114,476,125 (6.5%) on August 17 and by $120,343,556 (5.2%) on August 31. The cushion shrank as a share of supply while the supply grew.
- Each report gives figures for two dates only. How supply moved on other days of the month is not shown.
What's still open
- As of October 7, 2026, Ripple’s transparency page says reports arrive within 30 days of month end, so a September 2026 figure is due by the end of October. No September figure has been published.
- The report gives total outstanding units. It does not say how many sit on the XRP Ledger and how many on Ethereum.
In plain English
RLUSD is a digital dollar token issued by Ripple. A monthly report checks how many tokens exist and how much money stands behind them. The August 2026 report counted about 1.76 billion tokens on August 17 and about 2.33 billion on August 31. The money held in reserve was larger than the number of tokens on both dates.
