Plain definition. Ripple is a financial technology company that offers crypto solutions to help financial institutions, businesses, governments and developers store, move and exchange value.
Technical definition. On its company page, Ripple describes itself as “the leading financial technology company that offers crypto solutions for businesses,” enabling global financial institutions, businesses, governments and developers to store, move and exchange value. It says it works within existing financial systems “to improve, not disrupt,” working with regulators, governments and central banks so its solutions are secure and compliant. It also provides developer tools and support for building on the XRP Ledger, and its product lines include payments, custody, stablecoin, prime brokerage and treasury management.
