Are XRPL institutional announcements actually becoming live products?
Analysis Published 6 min read
Short answer
Some have and some have not, and no public count exists. Controlled resale of Dubai tokenized property went live on the XRP Ledger in February 2026, and Ondo’s OUSG is on it (instant minting only on Ethereum). The XRPL lending protocol was still in testing in June 2026; Ripple’s DTCC seat is a standards role, not a contract.

Which XRPL announcements have become live products?
A few announcements turned into something running, and one ended as a completed pilot.
Dubai property resale is the clearest case. Coingape reported that Ctrl Alt and the Dubai Land Department began the second phase of their real estate tokenization project, months after Ripple announced a partnership with Ctrl Alt [1]. In a February 2026 post, Reece Merrick, Ripple’s Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, said that controlled secondary market trading was live for tokenized properties on the XRP Ledger, secured by Ripple Custody [1]. The release quoted by Coingape said about 7.8 million tokens issued during the pilot became eligible for resale [1]. The page on Dubai property titles on the XRP Ledger covers the project in full.
Ondo’s OUSG fund is running on the ledger. The Crypto Basic reported on January 26, 2026 that Ondo accounted for $40.8 million of tokenized U.S. Treasuries on the XRP Ledger through OUSG [4]. Yahoo Finance reported on June 10, 2026 that Ondo runs OUSG on the ledger with 24/7 minting and redemption [3]. Ondo’s own documentation says OUSG is available on Ethereum mainnet, Polygon, Solana and the XRP Ledger, and that instant minting and redemption is only available on mainnet Ethereum [17].
Ripple reports its own products as live, among them Ripple Custody and a treasury management system from Ripple Treasury launched on April 1, 2026. Public sources do not show either of these running on the XRP Ledger, so neither is an established example of an XRPL announcement becoming a live product. Ripple wrote on April 15, 2026 that Ripple Custody is trusted by BBVA, DBS Bank, DZ Bank and Intesa Sanpaolo, and that Intesa Sanpaolo uses it for its digital asset initiatives [5]. Ripple Treasury’s news page lists an April 1, 2026 release titled “Ripple Treasury Launches the First Treasury Management System (TMS) with Native Digital Asset Capabilities” [6]. Both claims come from Ripple.
The May redemption was a pilot, not a product. Ondo Finance announced on May 6, 2026 the completion of the first near real-time cross-border, cross-bank redemption of a tokenized U.S. Treasury fund, run with Kinexys by J.P. Morgan, Mastercard and Ripple [2]. Ripple redeemed a portion of its own OUSG holdings on XRPL, and Ondo said the XRP Ledger processed the asset leg in under five seconds [2]. Zack Chestnut of Kinexys called it “an important step towards establishing a framework for institutional-scale tokenized asset markets” [2]. The page on the JPMorgan, Mastercard and Ondo redemption sets out each leg.
Which XRP and XRP Ledger institutional announcements have stalled, been cancelled or quietly ended?
As of September 30, 2026, no cancelled XRPL institutional announcement is on the public record. That does not prove none exist. Several announcements had not become live products at their last dated mention.
The XRPL lending protocol entered validator voting in January, and Yahoo Finance reported that it was still in testing while Ripple’s developers ran formal verification and was not live [3].
Ripple agreed in April 2025 to buy Hidden Road for $1.25 billion, and in its acquisition announcement committed to moving Hidden Road’s post-trade activity onto the XRP Ledger, crypto.news reported on July 8, 2026 [7]. The same article wrote that if the migration happens at scale it will show up in ledger throughput and Ripple’s quarterly disclosures, and it named the migration staying a press-release commitment as a counter-signal to watch [7].
Yahoo Finance reported on June 10, 2026 that Archax had publicly committed to bringing $1 billion in tokenized assets onto XRPL by mid-2026 [3]. The Crypto Basic put Archax’s Treasury fund on the ledger at $7.712 million on January 26, 2026 [4]. No later Archax figure has been published.
Ripple said on April 15, 2026 that it had partnered with Kyobo Life Insurance to explore blockchain-based custody and on-chain settlement [5]. No later status had been published as of September 30, 2026.
CaptainAltcoin reported on September 10, 2026 that the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment was inside its 14-day activation window and could enable around 11 September, that BatchV1_1 had not crossed the required threshold, and that the same applied to Confidential Transfers, adding that being included in XRPL software is not the same as being active on mainnet [8]. CryptoSlate reported on September 12, 2026 that fixCleanup3_3_0 went live on 11 September at 11:29 UTC in validated ledger 106,911,489, according to XRPSCAN [16].
Coinspeaker reported on August 12, 2026 that Aviva Investors issued a tokenized share class of its US Dollar Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger [10]; Aviva’s own release is not public, so the rest is left to the page on what Aviva Investors is doing on the XRP Ledger.
What is the median announcement-to-production lag across all 2025-26 announcements, not only the successes?
As of September 30, 2026, this cannot be computed from public information. Coingape dates the Dubai second phase only as “months after” the Ctrl Alt partnership [1]. The lending protocol had no go-live date as of June 10, 2026 [3]. The Hidden Road migration commitment comes from a deal agreed in April 2025 and was still being tracked as a signal in July 2026 [7]. This gap biases any estimate toward the successes.
Does going live mean meaningful use?
Not by itself. Yahoo Finance reported on June 10, 2026 that tokenized Treasury transfer volume on the XRP Ledger reached $352.3 million in the first four months of 2026, against $70.1 million for all of 2025 [3]. The same report said total real-world-asset transfer volume came to about $50 million over the prior 30 days and shrank by more than half from the month before [3]. It also said the JMWH energy token accounted for roughly $2.2 billion of the ledger’s headline figure, was held by 19 wallets and recorded no transfer in the prior month [3]. The page on how much XRPL tokenized value is tradable separates held assets from registry entries, and the page on whether tokenization creates demand for XRP covers the token question.
How does the conversion rate compare with institutional announcements on other chains?
As of September 30, 2026, no conversion rate for any chain has been published. Two dated comparisons exist. CoinDesk reported on September 7, 2026 that Swift’s blockchain ledger launched in July with 17 banks, and that a DBS and Citi weekend payment on 5 September was its second confirmed live transaction, following HSBC and Standard Chartered’s first live transfer in August [9]. CaptainAltcoin reported that the DBS and Citi transaction did not use XRP and did not settle on the XRP Ledger [8]. The page on Swift’s blockchain ledger has more.
crypto.news reported on July 8, 2026 that the DTCC announced in late May it would integrate the Stellar network into its tokenized securities platform as the first public blockchain in its strategy, and that it has not named the XRPL [7]. The same article said the DTCC’s tokenization service began limited production trades in July 2026 with a full launch planned for October, and that the service is not built on the XRP Ledger [7].
What is the strongest case against reading these announcements as adoption?
The strongest critique is that many XRPL milestones involve Ripple on more than one side. crypto.news wrote on July 8, 2026 that “the market has learned to discount announcements in which Ripple is both counterparties” [7]. In the May pilot, the redeeming party was Ripple itself [2]. Yahoo Finance described Ripple Prime’s DTCC working-group seat as a chance to argue for XRPL as the settlement rail, not a signed contract [3], and crypto.news called it a chair at a standards table whose members include JPMorgan, which runs its own competing ledger [7]. CaptainAltcoin summed up the pattern on September 10, 2026: “Connected to Ripple” does not mean “uses XRP”, and “Included in software” does not mean “already live” [8]. The page on whether money is going into XRP infrastructure ahead of real demand sets out this side in full.
What does Ripple say about the move to production?
Ripple wrote on April 15, 2026 that “the next phase of digital asset adoption will not be defined by experimentation” but by operational maturity [5]. That is the company’s own framing of its market. No independent count tests it. The next question, whether live tokenized assets can be turned into cash or credit, is on the page about tokenized Treasuries as collateral.
What we know
- By February 2026 controlled secondary market trading of Dubai tokenized properties was live on the XRP Ledger, secured by Ripple Custody, according to a post by Ripple’s Reece Merrick reported by Coingape; about 7.8 million pilot tokens became eligible for resale.
- May 6, 2026: Ondo Finance announced a completed pilot redemption of its OUSG tokenized Treasury fund with Kinexys by J.P. Morgan, Mastercard and Ripple, in which Ripple redeemed part of its own OUSG holdings on XRPL.
- June 10, 2026: Yahoo Finance reported that Ondo runs OUSG on the XRP Ledger with 24/7 minting and redemption, and that the XRPL lending protocol was still in testing and not live.
- April 15, 2026: Ripple wrote that BBVA, DBS Bank, DZ Bank and Intesa Sanpaolo trust Ripple Custody, and that it had partnered with Kyobo Life to explore custody and on-chain settlement.
- April 1, 2026: Ripple Treasury’s news page lists the launch of a treasury management system with native digital asset capabilities (company-reported).
- July 8, 2026: crypto.news reported that the DTCC’s tokenization service is not built on the XRP Ledger and that Ripple Prime’s working-group seat is a standards role, not a contract.
- September 10, 2026: CaptainAltcoin reported that BatchV1_1 had not crossed its activation threshold and that inclusion in XRPL software is not the same as being active on mainnet.
What we reason Analysis
- The conversion record is uneven. This follows from the dated items above: the Dubai resale market and OUSG minting are running, while the lending protocol (June 2026), the Hidden Road post-trade migration (July 2026) and Archax’s $1 billion commitment (June 2026) were not shown as live in the project’s sources at their last dated mention.
- A Ripple Custody client is not automatically an XRP Ledger user. This follows from Ripple’s own statement that Ripple Custody lets institutions tokenize financial assets across major blockchains.
- A list built from announcements that went live will make conversion look faster than it is. Most announcements lack a public announcement date, a go-live date, or both, so stalled items drop out of any timing sample.
- As of September 30, 2026, public information does not confirm that 2026 announcements converted faster than expected. Aviva Investors’ own release on its production timeline has not been published as far as I could find.
What's still open
- Coinspeaker, via Yahoo Finance, reported on August 12, 2026 that Aviva Investors issued a tokenized share class of its US Dollar Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger with Ripple, with the structure approved by the Central Bank of Ireland, citing Ledger Insights and Structured Retail Products. As of September 30, 2026, I could not find Aviva’s own release.
- As of September 30, 2026, I could not find a complete register of 2025-26 XRPL institutional announcements with their current status, so I cannot state a conversion rate or median lag.
- As of September 30, 2026, I could not find any later figure for Archax’s mid-2026 commitment or any later status for the Kyobo Life partnership.
In plain English
Companies often announce plans to use the XRP Ledger, but an announcement is not the same as a working service. Some plans have started running, such as resale of tokenized Dubai property and a tokenized US government bond fund that is on the ledger, though instant buying and cashing out runs only on Ethereum. Others were still being tested or were only promises at the last check, such as a lending feature for the ledger. The sources held give no count of how many announcements turn into real services, so the honest answer is that some do and the overall rate is unknown.
