Ripple says on its Ripple Prime product page that Ripple Prime is its global prime brokerage business, created when Ripple acquired Hidden Road, and that it offers clearing, brokerage and financing to institutions across digital assets, FX, precious metals, exchange-traded derivatives, OTC swaps, fixed income repo and more.
Technical definition. Ripple describes Ripple Prime as “the first global, multi-asset prime broker owned by a crypto company,” formed through its acquisition of Hidden Road. It provides multi-asset clearing, prime brokerage and financing across digital assets, FX, precious metals, exchange-traded derivatives, OTC swaps, fixed income repo and more. Clients reach markets through OTC, sponsored access and direct market access, supported by real-time risk management, cross-margining and risk-based margin financing.
